Panel Speaker

Anselmo Lee is Adjunct Professor at Graduate School of Public Policy and Civic Engagement at Kyunghee University since 2008.  (Global governance, civil society, human rights and SDGs) He is current Co-Convener of Preparatory Committee for PyeongChang Appeal for Peace (PAP) Conference in 2019 and 2020.

 

He also serves as a Special Adviser to the President of the Korean Red Cross since Feb. 2018.


He has been teaching about global governance, civil society, human rights and development.


He has been a member of Board of the Korea Human Rights Foundation (KHRF) since 2010. He is a member of Policy Advisory Committee for the Promotion of North Korean Human Rights in the Ministry of Unification since Aug. 2018.


Internationally, he is a senior adviser to the Asia Development Alliance (ADA), a regional forum of national development CSO platforms in Asia on UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Asia Democracy Network (ADN). He used to be a board member of CIVICUS, World Alliance for Citizens’ Participation (2013-2015).


Previously he as civil servant worked for the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) as Director General in charge of policy and education (2008-2010). He also served as Executive Director of Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA), a Bangkok-based regional human right NGO (2005-2008.4) after working in Geneva for 8 years (1997-2004) as Secretary General of International Catholic Movement for Intellectual and Cultural Affairs (ICMICA)-Pax Romana, global network of Catholic professionals and intellectuals committed to social justice and human rights.
