Frequently Asked Questions

Registration is done via individual member country processes. Please contact your country representative to secure participation for your NGO/CSO at ACSC/APF 2018. Contacts of individual country representatives can be found here and on the registration process page.

2. How can i volunteer?
You can volunteer by signing up with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) at acsc2018loc@gmail.com. We welcome students and youths to play a part in the ASEAN process to learn more about how civil society and alternative voices can engage with various ASEAN governmental mechanisms. Singapore civil society organisations (CSOs) are already seeing greater space in terms of engagement with their ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) representative and the ASEAN Directorate of the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs following their 2015 Universal Periodic Review
3. What is the ASEAN peoples' process?
The Solidarity for Asian Peoples’ Advocacy (SAPA) first initiated the first iteration of the ACSC/APF as a civil society and grassroots process to address challenges faced by ASEAN peoples on human rights and the need for an alternative voice. From 2006 to 2015, Co-Convenors of SAPA WGA (Solidarity for Asian Peoples' Advocacy - Working Group on ASEAN) were Forum Asia and SEACA. Since 2016, the Co-Convenors of the renamed SAPA (Solidarity for ASEAN People's Advocacy) are Forum Asia and Pusat KOMAS.
The ACSC/APF process is a peoples’ process to engage ASEAN and its mechanisms through its yearly activities. This year it seeks to monitor ASEAN’s implementation of the recommendations in the SAPA Submission to the High Level Task Force on the ASEAN Community’s Post-2015 and to follow-up on the three ASEAN Community Blueprints for 2016 to 2025.
CSO participation is key in reporting, monitoring, and implementation of the thematic processes of the ASEAN Political-Security Community Blueprint 2025, ASEAN Economy Community Blueprint 2025, and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025.
4. I want to host a workshop or convene a panel discussion, how do i do this?
